Damaged Items vs Minor Imperfections

At Fated Fiction, we take great care in packaging your orders to ensure they arrive safely. However, due to the nature of shipping and the book industry, some minor imperfections may occur.

Damaged Items
We will offer a replacement or refund where a book arrives with significant damage that affects its usability or readability. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Missing or loose pages
  • Torn or detached covers or spines
  • Water damage
  • Major dents or crushing
  • Printing defects that impact the reading experience

Minor Imperfections
The following are not considered faults and do not qualify for return or refund:

  • Slight corner dings or bends
  • Minor scuffs, scratches, or marks
  • Small imperfections to dust jackets
  • Minor printing or binding variations
  • Slight variations in special edition finishes (e.g. sprayed edges)

These are common within the publishing and shipping process and do not affect the readability of the book.

Assessment of Returns

All claims for damaged items must be submitted within 7 days of delivery and include clear photographic evidence.

Each claim is assessed on a case-by-case basis in line with our obligations under Australian Consumer Law.

Lost Orders
If your order is marked delivered but not received, please contact the carrier first, then us.
